How to install Fabreasy on a Windows Terminal Server 2012R2 - RDS

This is a short description how to install Fabreasy on a RDS environment. Use this information at your own risk.

Fabreasy PDF Creator can be installed on a Remote Desktop Server. Please make sure Fabreasy PDF Creator is working properly under a user account after installing as admin (check the office ribbon, printer driver and drag-and-drop separately).  The user temp folder should be stored on the server C drive. Fabreasy (Fabreasy_PostInstall.exe) makes the correct setting per user automatically this means no specific actions are required. When access to Fabreasy setup is now allowed (optional) Fabreasy_PostInstall.exe should be executed once before Fabreasy is utilized by the user.

If you want to make pre defined settings for all users please follow these steps:

Step 1: On the terminal server

Download Fabreasy from www.fabreasy.com

Step 2: On the terminal server

Start -> Control Panel -> Install Application on Remote Desktop Session Host (follow the instructions).

Step 3: On the domain server

It is NOT required to make specific settings. But it is possible to deploy a group policies for specific settings for all users. These settings can be found (ans set) here:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Fabreasy PDF Creator (Settings)

Specific settings for a site license can be deployed automatically (email address/password/PIN) using the Group Prolicy Management Editor (please send an email for more details). It is also possible to hide specific functions for users e.g. disable setup, output to folder, email or printer, etc. (please note in Fabreasy older versions some settings for each user was required, the current Fabreasy version makes the appropriate settings for each user)

Group Policy Management - Add registry setting

Step 4: On the domain server

Do not forget to enable the policy by drag and drop the policy to the appropriate server.

Step 5: On the terminal server

Execute the ‘cmd’ command using admin rights:

gpupdate /force
